This party was a joy to plan and decorate! I dream of having a girl so I can plan a party like this one. So when Jimena's mom asked me to coordinate and plan her little girl's first birthday, I immediately suggested Little Red Riding Hood, something unique, at least to our usual party themes.
We decided on a red, white, lime and chocolate color scheme and it was just perfect along with beautiful graphics from from

MyGrafico. For the invitation I created a folding envelope with die cut trees and all of our characters peeking inside.
I partnered with my usual go-to vendors: the best in this area, by far! These women understood my vision and executed my ideas to perfection.
The focal point was, of course, the dessert table, for which we created something different from the traditional a candy bar. We included lots of sweet pastries, all of them local favorites such as "quesitos", cream rolls, strawberry pie, mini donuts, meringues, cake pops, coconut macaroons, mushroom sugar cookies, and may other mouthwatering desserts. Vanilla cake pops were placed on a custom made moss covered stand surrounded by a tiny white picket fence. The guests were able to take home some of these sweets in red polka dot paper baggies from Shop Sweet Lulu.
I asked my cake artist, Wanda González for not one, but three different cakes, each one a different flavor. A cheese flavored cake (layered in red and white inside) decorated with fondant figurines inspired by the artwork we used as a theme. Check out the wolf lurking behind the tree! The second cake was an almond cake decorated in white fondant and red polka dots. I created the little pennant birthday banner tied to striped straws from Shop Sweet Lulu. The third cake was my favorite, a vanilla ruffle cake with meringue icing and lovely little mushrooms on top. All three beautiful, all delicious!
I used white lattice and burlap as a backdrop to go along with the amazing balloon art from Johanna at GloboArte. I had to have an apple tree, flowers, mushrooms and of course Little Red Riding Hood with her basket hiding behind a bush.
Burlap favor bags with lovely tags and ribbon were placed on a white wrought iron stand with enough shelf space for the birthday girl's gifts. It was the perfect match for our amazing setup. The birthday hat was particularly special since I hand made each of those yarn pom poms on the trim and, of course, the ribbon pom at the top.
Other items I created were the ribbon garland, tissue poms poms, dessert labels, cupcake toppers, water bottle labels, striped straw flags, floral centerpieces, signs. I also created custom coloring pages and a beautiful tree made out of card stock as a centerpiece for the kid's table. The kids had a blast at the coloring station, the bouncy house and finally they enjoyed a puppet show.
I am really proud of this party, everything turned out perfect, just as I imagined, and Jimena's mom was more that pleased, proving once more that this is what I love to do. :)
Love,
