{American Girl Cupcake Party }

Today I'm sharing a sweet American Girl inspired party we styled for our little friend Ana.  She absolutely adores all things American Girl, especially their newest girl Grace.  So this new doll and accessories were our inspiration for our decor.  Shades of pink and aqua mixed with touches of black and white were used all around this adorable setting.

I started by designing Ana's own logo and patterns that would be seen through all the paper details.  As always my friend Johanna Padín from GloboArte delivered two balloon columns in our colors, perfect frame for our backdrop.

The dessert table, as always, featured our beautiful cake by Jovanna Valentín and several of Ana's new toys given to her as birthday presents.  Tons of decadent desserts graced our patisserie display: brownies, cheesecake, cupcake cookies, chocolate covered marshmallows, all by Mari at Sugar Bliss.

As favors each guest would receive a special mini edition American Girl Grace doll and a book of stickers in a bag embellished with a darling tag and ribbon.

We also prepared a long kid's table where the girls would be decorating cupcakes directed by Cupcakes Party PR.  Each place setting included a personalized name plate, place mat and water bottle, chef's hat and apron.

I also created this fantastic photo booth inspired by the American Girl box.  Simply fantastic!

{Guardians & Ghostbusters Smash Birthday}

Once again I was asked to create a dessert table for two little boys who are into totally different things. This time around the boys wanted a Guardians of the Galaxy and Ghostbusters.  It's always a challenge to mix non related themes, but with some research and a little bit of creativity anything is possible.

The backdrop was the main challenge.  I wanted to incorporate both themes in one big scene, and this is what I came with.  We used this background for the invitations as well.

I was lucky to find that the people of Funko have collections of every theme and TV show there is out there.  And sure enough I was able to find the whole GOTG and Ghostubsters collections!  These would be the binding element for our party.

Once we had decided on the backdrop the rest was easier.  We focused on the colors of both themes and chose a palette of red, blue, green and black.

We also identified which elements of both movies we would use to decide on our candy and desserts.  So for example we had Groot and ghost cookies, cupcakes with toppers of each theme, brownies with Starlord toppers and chocolate covered marshmallows with green ("slime") chocolate.  Mari fron Sugar Bliss created the delicious display of sweets.

The cakes are always a focal point on my displays and this time Jovanna Valentín created two pieces with great toppers and designs.  I am in love with the baby Groot topper! The cupcakes, also by Jovanna, were amazing too.

To tie off everything I created a banner, signs, dessert tags and favor bag tags.  Overall I think we accomplished the mail goal and the kids were amazed with their table.
