{Minecraft Birthday Party}

I'm a bit behind posting our latest parties, but here I am sharing this awesome birthday styled by my friend Mare Romo for her little boy Carlos.  He is a super fan of the video game Minecraft so as soon as he said he wanted this theme for this 9th birthday his mom went to town with all the planning.  As I have said before, for me it's a great pleasure to work with such a talented person.  She basically came up with all the ideas and this time I just collaborated with my paper products, stationary and a touch here and there.  All the graphics, patterns and fonts that resemble those of the game are online free to download.  She printed massive amounts of paper to wrap boxes to create her own Minecraft world landscape, blocks and characters.  She also made all the desserts served on the main table.  I created the banner, food tags, mini bunting, water bottle labels, little flags for the paper straws and signs. I hope you enjoy this party as much as I do!

A special thanks to Jillian from Catch My Party for already featuring our party as Party of the Day!

Thanks for reading!

  3. This is SIMPLY amazing! Where did you find the faux grass? Can you tell me a little more about the desserts on the dessert bar? My husband and I were joking last night that we could do a Minecraft party for our son (who plays with friends online) only the friends could all play from their houses and we could just deliver a cupcake and goodie bag the day before. :)

    1. Hello Ellie!
A cyber birthday... that's an awesome idea! :)
Well, the tissue grass mats I think they are from Amazon. They are really inexpensive. The desserts on the table were chocolate cake bites with fondant toppers, rice crispy treats (different types of cereal and one of them with frosting), Jell-O, rock candy, Twizzlers, Kit Kat, M&Ms and brownie push pops.
Hope you decide on this theme and share with us!

    2. Hi! I am trying to make a tree and creeper out of boxes. Did you have to enlarge the images that you found online? If so, how did you do it. I cannot for the life of me figure it out! Thanks sooooo much!

  6. This is an awesome party! My son wants to have a Minecraft party at the end of the month. Where did you find the patterns and such online to wrap the boxes with? I'm on a time crunch because both my son and I had the flu while I would have normally been part way done with the planning.

  9. Hi there, I absolutely love this party and am having a gaming/minecraft party for my son's 8th birthday. I have read your comments above about getting free downloads from http://minecraftpapercraft.com, but did you create the creeper juice bottle label yourself and customize the tnt label that went around the clear box? I would love to purchase your creeper juice bottle wrapper if you have it available.
I look forward to hearing back from you!

  11. I absolutely love this! Thank you for sharing. How did you get the images to print out large enough to cover those boxes? When I go to the website and click on the template they are pretty small and wouldn't cover a box that size. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I need to print out a lot of them :-) Thanks.

    2. Jamie, I just transferred the images to a word document and manually enlarged them. Also, we printed at a copy place on 11x14 paper so that it was enough to wrap the boxes. The boxes are still large for the paper, so we just wrapped the sides individually. Good luck with your party!

I'm making a Minecraft party for my son too. He'll be 15 so I've invited some of his friends over with their laptops and they'll all get connected and play from here. There will be a few friends that won't make it so they'll be able to meet online and celebrate with him. I'm also here in PR. Your decorations are awesome !! Where did you get the pixelated green and gold paper? Is there a local store where I can get the green & brown M&M colors' only? Thanks for your pictures they are inspiring !!

  17. This is awesome. I am planning a surprise party for my son who will be 11 years old, and is obsessed with Minecraft. I figured with the very easy theme, simple colors and box shapes this would be a great idea.

Thanks for some insight and ideas. Ours wont be this over the top, but
I know he will still have a blast and be so shocked when he sees it all.

The sugar cookies look amazing. Did you use royal icing and pipe the intricate designs on, or are they tiny fondant squares? You've got me baffled!
Great job, and thank you in advance :-)

  24. Hello friends!

I am getting lots of questions regarding the table coverings for the dessert table. We were really luck to have found this material. They are place mats, vinyl, in fact. We pieced several place mats and tablecloths in the same print to create one big table covering with the minecraft grass/dirt effect. It may not show in the pictures but it was a bit of a challenge to piece them together. We also used them to cover some of the boxes. Unfortunately these were apparently a seasonal item for the Holidays. We have tried to find some more since so many people have asked for them, but we've had no luck. As for the rest of the papers we used on the centerpiece, those patterns you can find online for free. We just saved them to the computer and transferred them into a Word document to enlarge. Also, we printed in 11x14 paper just so we had larger pieces to cover the boxes we used. Lots of printing and cutting but the result is simply awesome.

Thank you all for your comments. We are really glad we are able to serve as inspiration for your parties! I'd love to see your photos! You can email at info@partyliciousevents.com and maybe we can share some of them on my blog or our Facebook page www.facebook.com/partyliciousevents.
